I'll be traveling from Houston. Are there any other options to get to Roatán besides flights into RTB, something similar to the bag drag from Cancun to Cozumel?

Short answer - No.

There's two non-stop United flights on Sat. morning direct to Roatan from IAH for $693. I've been on the later one, my buddy lives in Houston so we flew thru there and picked him up.I even think we paid more - closer to $800.

It's possible to fly into San Pedro Sula (SAP) on the mainland then take the bus to La Ceiba and the ferry ($65/RT) to Roatan. Add a $15 cab from the ferry port to AKR. Flights to SAP seem to be just over $500 with a long layover in MIA.

Somewhere along there - probably La Ceiba - requires an overnight since the US flight doesn't get to SAP until later afternoon. You can also fly to Roatan from SAP but those 2 flights are at 10AM and cost $175/290 R/T so it seems like the time/inconvenience is worth the direct flight cost. Plus you have to do it in reverse a week later. And I don't believe there's a hotel close to the ferry port in LCE so that would be another cost.
