I'm looking for a new set of fins. I current have the open back Tusa X-pert Zoom fins. I like them a lot. They are very comfortable to use and provide decent performance. I recently tried a set of Dacor Tiger fins and didn't really like them so much. They caused a little ankle pain.

Lately, I have been working on some of the non-standard kicks. Mostly for fun, but in general to improve my diving skills. I've found that doing the hellicopter kick and to back up is pretty tough with these fins.

So what I am looking for is something that gives the general comfort of this fin, with perferably more performance, but better ability when doing the non-standard kicks.

Perhaps this is impossible to find, but I thought I would ask. Thanks in advance.

Perhaps a mares quattro would fit the bill?

Why may I ask do you want fast fins? I personally find the fast to be in the diver more than in the fin. That said, diving fast IMHO kills a good dive.

Noooooo. I just bought Jet Fins (actually IDI/XS Power Fins) this morning and they are fantastic. I was really skeptical, but they are just as slick and fast in the water as split-fins, and easily as powerful (it seems) as Mares quattros. I really thought this thing about Jet fins was just a curmudgeon's yarn (or tale) but I can't believe how much I love them. They feel like part of your body. The quattros are really awkward
and slow by comparison. As I said, I was really skeptical but I just can't believe how well they work....... even with no fanciful coloration. Thanks to Walter for steering me away from Super Rockets.

I have both the Mares quattros and the zooms. I find nothing zooming about the zooms especially in currents.....and yes I know of the mod' kick required.

I stay with the quattros and would like a second pair.

I used Scubapro Jet fin good perform any technique kick

Its kind of heart warming that they might have got it right the first time.

I have a pair for sale, hardly used, with almost unused straps.......but they're yellow.
Have you tried the Jets, or the Jets knock-offs? Pm me if you want some cheap quattros (Yellow).

Love my Quattros. The jets felt too heavy on my feet, but the Quattros have worked out great.

can't tell ya' what's best for you, but I have been very pleased with my Jets for the past couple of years ...

Aloha, Tim

Hey kidspot,

Great site, but you know that you're probably mad, right?
