We will be holding an Equipment Specialist course starting at 9 am on Saturday December 8th. This will be a 2 day course finishing up on Sunday December 9th. Due to the extensive hands on trainig and the content of this course, we have to limit this course to the first 12 folks to signup.

The Equipment Specialist / Techniques Course is designed to familiarize and teach divers with the operation, maintenence, and repair of diving equipment.

Topics Covered
  • Theory, principles, and operation of how SCUBA equipment works
  • Proper maintenence procedures for SCUBA Equipment
  • Overhauling a Low Pressure Inflator
  • Servicing a Buoyancy Compensator Device
  • Procedures for properly adjusting a Back Plate
  • Building a efficient Save-A-Dive kit
  • Overhauling a Non-Balanced 1st Stage
  • Overhauling a Balanced 1st Stage
  • Overhauling a Non-Balanced 2nd Stage
  • Overhauling a Balanced 2nd Stage
  • Procedures for verifying the accuracy of depth gauges
  • Procedures for verifying the accuracy of dive computers
  • Overhauling a J valve
  • Overhauling a K valve
  • Procedures for visually inpecting a SCUBA cylinder
  • Procedures for hydrostatically testing a SCUBA cylinder
  • Procedures for tumbling a SCUBA cylinder
  • Procedures for O2 cleaning of SCUBA equipment
  • Procedures for properly assembling doubles
  • Care and maintenence of neoprene products
  • Procedures for repairing neoprene products
  • Care and Maintence of Dry Suits
  • Procedures for repairing dry suits
The cost of the course is $249 and includes all schematics, guides, use of all tools needed, parts for the equipment being overhauled. Each student will recieve a binder with all schematics, forms and white papers utilized in the course plus much more.

Due to the limited sets of equipment available for the practical excercises, this class will be limited to the first 12 persons registered. Participants will be certified through their agency of choice, PADI or SSI.

As long as its not a Poseidon (parts are hard to get for them) or Dacor (parts dont exists for them anymore) you may bring your own gear. Let us know ahead of time so we can be sure we have the parts for it.
