Has anyone used the PADI Electronic Dive Planner??? Thinking about buying one, wondering if there are any thoughts on it out there. THX. Mike B.

It doesn't really tell you anything you can't already figure out with the RDP, but it does do the equivalent of the table lookups for you. And after all that they didn't add the ability to to Nitrox and its only "water resistant" (whatever that means). Personally I'd save the $25 unless you absolutely can't figure out how to work the tables. And even then there are table tutors (Larry at ScubaToys.com has one he licenses free for SB members). Maybe play with one at your LDS or PADI has a flash-based demo online you can play with:

It does what it's supposed to do. Unless you really detest working the table, don't bother. The buttons aren't the easiest to work. The display isn't the easiest to read. As HTH pointed out, it's not Nitrox compatible, so you still need to do EAD conversions. Save your money and buy a computer with dive planning function on it.

Personally it is a waist of good money. Like others have said..unless you can't work the tables then don't buy it. And if you can't work the tables then don't dive!!! Sooner or later the computer will leave you high and dry, then what are you going to do?
