For the record - current ferry schedule leaving Cozumel to Playa is 5:45am, then 7:00am, then every hour.
The 7:00 Mexico ferry, arrived Playa about 7:45am. (Ultramar indeed departed and arrived a few minutes sooner.) I took the 8:15 ADO bus to Cancun airport (could have made the 8:00 departure but had bought an 8:15 ticket on Cozumel the night before). The bus stops at terminals 2 and 4 (I think) before terminal 3, but everyone was off by 9:15. Arriving three hours before departure was plenty of time to check in, go through security and be at the gate by 9:45-10. (The check in lines were long but moved quickly, your mileage may vary.)
Fortunately, everything went smoothly, but the timing would have been OK even with a later bus or with traffic. The ADO website will show the bus schedule, or the ADO ticket office staff on Cozumel can check it.
Despite what the ferry company's website said, the cost of a one-way ticket was 175 pesos for Mexico, 190 or 200 pesos for Ultramar. (They had clearly just raised prices, you could see the cross outs at the booths!)
