Olympus users- girlfriend and I are in Bonaire and the flash on her E-PL5 failed on Monday. Mine failed in the same way on Friday. The FL-LM1 flash unit starts to flash intermittently then not at all. When hers failed I was able to put my flash on her camera and it worked fine so it appears to be the FL-LM1 module. Any similar experiences? $50 will fix it- but I don't feel this should be a perishable part requiring frequent replacement. Mine has 100 dives- hers only 25

saw a failure on our last trip - likely something mechanical in that instance.

The flash fired okay when the camera was outside of the housing, but refused to fire once the camera was inside. I claimed it was likely due to the flash not popping up far enough? The housing fit was very tight and the top of the flash was against the inside of the housing. I suggested ripping the flash apart and seeing if there was any ability to adjust the sensing switch inside.

The camera owner was very nervous about fiddling with anything, so gave up on stills and resorted to video for the last half of the week.
