This isn't an accident but seemed like the best place to ask this question. Is there any danger of drinking alchol after diving? And would deeper diver and then drinking be anymore of a risk of shallower dives?

I think that Diving Medicine is a more appropriate section.

Me too. As soon as we get of the charter it is right to the pub/patio/whatever for some munchies and drinks.

I have brought beer on the boat and started drinking after the last dive on the way in. I do not see no danger in doing this as long as its the last day of the dive.

It takes care of the dry mouth!

So does a bottle of Water :D

Seriously my only issue with Drinking after a dive, is then driving after drinking.

With the laws as they are today, getting pulled over after even two beers can lead to a DWAI (IN CO, where that limit is .05).

Once in a safe spot where driving is no longer necessary, IMO drink away!! :D

I certainly know plenty of divers who do exactly that.

Remember that diving tends to dehydrate you, and dehydration is especially bad in diving. Alcohol also dehydrates you. Be sure to drink plenty of H20 to compensate.

Any alcohol consumption tends to dehydrate the body. Dehydration is a major contributor in causes of DCS. So yes, alcohol consumption after a dive does increase your risk of DCS and the further you pushed your profile would compound that. I as do most divers, consume alcohol after dives. As an individual who cares about my health, I drink in moderation and consume massive quantities of non alcoholic drinks as well to insure proper hydration.
