I recently noticed people "Liked" some of my posts. It showed up as a notification so that I was made aware someone had "Liked" it. Is that it? Or does it have some other function to it?

$5 is deposited into your account for each "Like" you receive.

:D

It gives you positive social reinforcement on posts people felt were helpful so that you'll be more likely to make helpful posts in the future. Likes mean people agree with you, and that makes you feel included socially.

Other than the emotional and social feelings, likes don't really do anything else. I enjoy them.

Forum Runner doesn't support/show the 'like' button. :(
