I ran into the same issues with a Diverite Transplate.. Drove me nuts. Was gonna make one out of pvc then I learned the "The Kracken" makes them AL or SS, I bought a SS from him. Top shelf work and was the envy at the local quarry. Even the LDS owner was impressed. Did 6 dives last weekend and it was GREAT. No tank backplate issues at all.
