I was there...we planned on doing 3 dives but one guy had a bad tank and didn't know it until we got there. The two dives we did were great. We did our first dive at about 11AM and the second about 1 PM. The only downside to Edmonds is the long swim out, other than that it was great.

You were there today? I thought about driving down and going, but I didn't make it. The surface swim is a killer, not my most favorite thing by far... but its worth it in the long run!!

Take it easy..

We spent the day in the South Sound . . . Fox Island West Wall, Titlow, and Les Davis. We never found the West Wall but admired the sea pens.

I dove that West Wall site twice and never found the wall. I'm not going back without someone who can show me exactly where it is.

For a good Fox Island dive, try the Fox Island Bridge (if you haven't already). LOTS of life on and around the bridge supports. Hit it at slack between low exchanges.

This was my first South Sound shore diving trip -- we picked the West Wall because it wasn't current-sensitive (according to the book, which was rather wrong about that, too) and we were centering the dive day around slack at Titlow.

I will say that I will be driving down that way again . . . great diving!

I haven't been to the park yet. Can someone set me straight on whether or not the dry dock can be dived? I've heard it's the best part of the park but some say it's off limits - others say it's open access. :ne_nau:

Is there a book about diving this park? How far is the swim?

Here's a popular book on all the PS area diving, which includes the park: http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/1559920750/ref=sib_dp_pt/102-7716840-0948953#reader-link

The length of swim veries depending on where you're headed, but is usually about 2 good dive stories long. :D

Its funny that you should mention that! We had a new diver with us, and after about dive tale three, she goes "How long is this freakin' surface swim anyway???" It was good for a chuckle... :D

The real fun at Edmonds is kicking out past the jetty to where the water is deep enough to descend, and then discovering that one of your party isn't carrying enough weight, and nobody else has any to spare. BTDT, several times now. It's almost enough to make me dive a couple of pounds overweighted there if I'm going with somebody I don't know well. It's a LONG swim back to shore to get weights . . .
