Oh wow that's really cool, I just found the first chapter of your book online and started to read it. I definately plan on going to get myself a copy and begin reading it in my leisure time. I am looking forward to it, it was also highly recommended by another fellow on Scubaboard. I am interested to see into the side of cartert county I haven't been able to see. I am currently a student at East Carolina University, but originally from Baltimore, MD. So this should be interesting, most of the stuff in your book should be familiar but some I may come across for the first time. I look forward to getting into this. If I have any questions I will surely get back to ya

Guys (and gals)

if you really want to see the inside of a german sub, go to the museum of science and industry in Chicago!

The U-505 rests there in near perfect condition in the basement, and you can enter without the danger of entrapment and drowning. Plus, You can see what the insdie of a german sub looks like without the silt.

I know i know, diving one is so much cooler. However, if you want to penetrate one, I highly recommend visiting my home town of chicago!

Bernie's "Last Dive" is a must read for you all, as well.

I am going to look into possibly buying Ken's book, du to all the fantabulous reviews.

I'm in Chicago next week for business, but am setting aside half of Tuesday for the U-505 exhibit. Going to take me camera and take lots of pictures. Next summer when I get down to NC and shine my light in, hopefully I'll better appreciate what I'm looking at.

Any way I can get you to sign it?
ScubaLuuke

Sure. We can figure out a way. Come dive with us, unless of course the book causes you to think otherwise.

Rum Runners has some copies on order, they are in your neck of the woods.

Funny, my daughter is a junior at MICA in Baltimore.

I usually keep a small inventory, and will ship signed copies. I still have some "Scotty" signed copies too, that were apart of a promotion I am doing in May. Details here.

The thread gets a little out of control, that forum is a great group of friends, but all threads end up sounding like a conversation at a local pub.

I think you will enjoy it, especially if you go into knowing it is not a "scuba" book and don't expect to learn anything, save maybe what not to do, but I am sure you already know not to do those things.

I have heard from a lot of "non-diving" readers who enjoyed it, some say they might want to take up scuba, others saying it validated all the reasons they had for not taking it up.

One of my biggest worries when I published it was that experienced divers and instructors would find the dive stories boring. But what I have been told is that i weave enough humor into the stories to keep "real" divers interested.

Oh cool, yea Rum Runners is the dive shop that I use over here in Greenville. Yea we can figure out a way to do it. We will have to get together for some diving sometime, I plan to stay around this way for the summer and hope to log a great amount of dives offshore with Olympus, but I do know they get booked up quickly in those months. I was always looking into there liveaboard offer for sometime in the summer as we approach the warmer season. Have you had the oppurtunity to dive with them on the liveaboard, I believe it to be the Midnight Express, if so let me know what you think of it?
Let's hope the book doesn't keep me from venturing into the blue, lol
I will look into the spearfishing and Lobster dive with Olympus in May. What is the exact date of this? It may correspond with my school schedule
