Divers Day Out at Lake Murray Oklahoma-----Scuba Diving!!!

Lake Murray is listed as one of the top 100 swimming holes in the United States known for its cool, clean water suitable for scuba diving.
On the south end of the lake at Marietta Landing. After entering Marietta Landing follow the road to the left until it dead ends. Most diving is done in a small cove. Entry is very easy! At the center of the cove is a very nice platform that sits in about 20ft of water. This is a good place to tie off your dive buoy. If you plan on dive more than once leave the buoy tied during your surface interval. This cove also seems to be a favorite for boaters. But, with the buoy in place boaters will avoid the area. At the bottom of the platform you will find ropes that lead to many sunken items. There are two old boats, an old rusted out car, and a motorcycle.

*We will cook, laugh, scuba dive, and hang out together. SI Scuba will provide hot dogs, snacks, sodas, water and juices. All rentals are half price including semi-dry's so this is a great opportunity to try out a new suit, BCD, or whatever your heart's desire.

Gift Certificate for the buddy team that makes the longest no-deco dive will receive two $25 gift certificates.

Location: Halfway between Oklahoma City and Dallas, two miles east of I-35 at Exit 24, overlooking Lake Murray. Park Map.

When: Saturday January 29th, 2005 12pm to 3pm

I am hoping to make it,,,,will be first time to dive it since 1971!!

Dang, I'd love to try Murry as well, but a little cold for this warm water wimp, plus I'll be out of town. Any plans for trying this again in the spring?!

Hey Timeliner, how's Paris? Lived there a few years ago, still miss it. Tell Doug at Cafe Java "hi" for me.

Jeff

What is the expected water temp for Murray at the end of Jan? I'm gonna be kinda spoiled to warm water around that time... Thanks,
Foo

Umm about 54 degrees? Can you handle it? :06: Wooo hoooo let's get Chilly!!!!

Hey Debraw....

I loved that Mares 6.5 mil ~ Wet-Dry Suit at the Poker Run at CSSP on Dec. 18th.
The 53 degree water felt sorta like a Summer day!
It was the most comfortable I've ever been down at the Silos for sure.

What are the chances of bringing one of those along for me to rent at Lake Murray ???
( Sized to fit 167 lbs - 5ft. 9in. tall )

That is no problem Nerissa Troy or I can buddy up with you if we don't have another buddyless diver going but we always seem to have plenty of people to buddy up with. :dazzler1:
