That’s why after this trip, some of us add 3 more days of diving with Fuvahmulah Dive School (FDS) as the divers from FDS would have sun light behind them, looking at the pit with the deep blue background, perfect angle for shooting video.

Some shots of the FDS boat for you. They have straps to make sure kit does not fall over. I just kitted up as soon as I got on the boat and my place was near the front right exit where the boat captain drives the boat. Refilling of tanks is done on the boat. You can request nitrox.

FDS diving costs and where I stayed in Fuv. FDS has different prices for those doing less dives than I. Once a diver does 21 or move dives as I did ( 33 ) the rate is US$50 per dive plus 8% GST and 4% credit card surcharge.

Now for me, if I had exchanged for US$ cash in Taiwan it would have cost me me more than my credit card bill. I also get cash back on the CC and my credit card is co branded to China Airlines from Taiwan every purchase gets me air miles regardless. Interest rates on credit cards in Taiwan are capped at 15% by law. Those with a high credit score have lower interest rates. My card rate is 7.7% cause I just pay off my card all the time in full. Use the interest free period then just pay lump sums clearing the card.

My dive buddy found us a really good place to stay. We paid US$1040 for 13 nights and the owner included a 125cc motorbike. Another place wanted to charge us US$20 a day for a bike. You need transportation to get around the island small as it is.

We had a few divers come to visit for coffee and dang they were not amused to find out they paid for a small hotel room half the size of my bedroom at over US$100 per night. We had a two floor apartment and downstairs was a small living room with TV ( which we never used lol ) and my bedroom. A door from my bedroom went to the secured outdoor area which had a washing machine and large hangers for drying clothes. So after our last dives the dive shop small truck brouvght our dive gear back and we freshwater flushed our BCD's and dive gear then it was dry before packing for our 5pm flight to Male next day.

My buddy was upstairs next to the kitchen dining area and he had a large room with a double and single bed and an outdoor balcony.

The local supermarkets and most restaurants took credit cards. We would get up around 6am I would cook breakfast. Having the kitchen was really nice and we did all our breakfasts and some dinners there.

We would leave at 7am for the less than 15 mins we took to get to the FDS dive shop. The boat boarding was at 7:30am for the first dive every morning.
