Should be plenty of time to get to boat. Also, I think alot of the boats dive around that area the first day for people who get in late, or luggage is late by a day. Check with the liveaboard but this was my intuition when I was there.

The wifi on our boat was terrible. Get a sim card for sure.

Socorro our boat provided them. You can if you want, we didn't have them on our trip. Bring a reef hook. They will probably provide them but our boat almost ran out, and mine broke lol. We hit some very sporty current which were fun on some of our dives.

Maldives was my best trip yet so far.

Thanks. Already prebooked a reef hook with the boat.

I'm just going back and forth between staying the night before at Male or getting in the day of. Flying out of NY in Jan can be tricky with weather delays and cancellations.

I stayed the night before in hulhumale (where the harbor and liveaboards are). It wsa like $40 and I had the piece of mind of not getting ****** by the airlines. It was nice to relax for a day with the laptop in ac after the long flights.

Thinking the same. If you get a chance would appreciate the hotel's name. Thanks.

I'll get it, it's in my airbnb history I'm quite shore. The whole area of hulhumale is underwhelming, so just don't jump to any conclusions. It felt plenty safe. Maldives 'to me' was basically an extension of india... :)

Thanks. I've traveled some in overly populated and under developed countries so it's all good. Just want a clean, functioning, and centrally located spot to spend the night and walk about town for a bit.
