Gears in shop for yearly. If no one has remove by the weekend of the 22nd, I will come down and take care of it. Let me know please. Will also bring cutters to render abandoned crab traps harmless.

Did S.Brohard this morning. Viz was 4-5 ft., water temp 71 on the surface & 69 on the bottom. Flat seas. There is a large ghost cast net stuck in the middle of the reef. I managed to release a good sized sheepshead that was caught in it but much as I wanted to remove the net, I ended up having to leave it there. I was solo & didn't want to become the subject matter for Scuba Diving's "Lessons learned" & the net was just too large for me to handle on my own. If you see it & can remove it or if you would like to buddy up with me to remove it, just give a shout.

If you can get a good location on it, I might be able to spare a couple of divers on a training day to come remove it. It'd be a good training exercise, as we deal with these things all the time.

That would be great! Unfortunately the best position I can give you is that it is in the central to northern section of the reef & is not along the edge. I pushed it down as best I could but I'm sure, with the wave action we're getting today, it will rise back up again. The reef is not that large that I'm sure,if you did a north/south grid search, you would find it.

never got out far enough to get to the net. Dive buddy was a little rusty after 2 years off so stuck close to shore so we could do some refreshers for him.

I saw you out there. You guys were just swimming out as I pulled in. I took one look at the water & decided not to go in. The net was way south of your position. I'm thinking it's more closer to straight out from the boardwalk. Next time I'm out, I'll try placing a buoy on it.
