lots of seafog made it cool on surface
surface water color was bright green looked good nice and clear

Thanks, I was going to post in the fossil id thread but here we go. Found this on feb 26 off venice beach about 20 feet of water. We are really hoping it is an actual fossil and not just a rock as this would be the wife's first find (I'm just the dive (and ski) sherpa and location researcher).

Thanks for all the great info ReefGuy, It was the information that you posted that put her in the right place. She only got one dive in and I was hoping to go home (Massachusetts) with a meg tooth to show the dive club but it just ain't gonna happen. Next trip down we know just where she needs to go. I tried talking her into a trip to the bone pit but she resisted.
