Dive Computer Buddy project on Kickstarter

Just a quick update to let our backers know that we have received the pre-production run of the housings and they seem correct. We are getting closer and closer to begin shipping.

We have also received a sample for the Mares Puck cable and it is working perfectly.

This Kit support the following Mares dive computers: Puck, Puck Air, Nemo and Nemo wide.
It looks like we will be able to anticipate by a month the shipment of the Mares Puck Family rewards. Instead of August we now plan to ship those rewards in July.

If you missed out the DCbuddy Kickstarter campaign, you can now pre-order on our online store DCbuddy kits for the following families of dive computers:

Suunto D: D4, D4i, D6, D6i, D9, D9TX and DX.
Suunto Z: Cobra, Cobra3, HelO2, Vyper, Vyper Air, Vytec and Zoop.
Mares Puck: Puck, Puck Air, Nemo and Nemo wide.

I am glad to report that we plan to begin beta testing of DCbuddy (Suunto families) in a couple of weeks.

At this point we are looking for few beta testers that meet the following requirements.
-Must be based in USA.
-Must own one (or more) of the Suunto dive computers supported by DCbuddy.
-Must own an iPhone 4S or IPhone 5, 5S or 5C.
-Must be familiar with our divePAL for iPhone App.
-Must be a DCbuddy backer (for any of the Suunto rewards).

Beta Testers, divePAL and Cables

Beta Testers
Just a quick update to let our backers know that we have selected the beta testers for the Suunto D family and Cobra family of dive computers. If you were interested in being a beta testers, check your email to see if you have received an email from us.
We expect to ship units to the selected beta testers early next week.

We are now looking for few beta testers for the Mares Puck family of dive computers supported by DCbuddy (Puck, Puck Air and Nemo Wide) that meet the following requirements.
-Must be based in USA.
-Must own one (or more) of the Mares dive computers supported by DCbuddy.
-Must own an iPhone 4S or IPhone 5, 5S or 5C.
-Must be familiar with our divePAL for iPhone App.
-Must be a DCbuddy backer (for the Mares Puck family reward).

divePAL
we have completed the integration of DCbuddy into divePAL (for the Suunto dive computers) and have already submitted it to Apple for their (long) review / approval process. Now we have to wait ... and wait .... and wait.

Cables
We have identified suppliers for the various cables we need and already placed orders. Unfortunately we have to deal with different suppliers as it was not feasible to get all the cables from just one source.

The good news is that one of the supplier is already shipping cables for a couple of models.
The bad news is that the other suppliers have indicated delivery times of up to 90 days

We will keep pushing them to deliver as soon as possible.

i see other Oceanic computers, but not the Geo 2.

First batch of DCbuddy is being assembled

Will ship those out to the first backers (Suunto D and Cobra families) in the next few days.

Also, Apple has approved the first version of divePAL (for iPhone) that supports DCbuddy. You can download it from the App store and get familiar with how DCbuddy is being integrated into it.

The selected Beta testers (the ones that have received confirmation AND a DCbuddy from us) should use the newest - not yet released version of divePAL. Send us UUID so we can create version that runs on your iPhone.

Android Beta Testers needed

Beta testing of the iOS App is proceeding well; in fact the latest version of divePAL for iPhone works quite well. This version supports the Suunto dive computers for the D & Z families (as defined by us here) and includes a diagnostic mode. You can use the Diagnostic Mode in case you have problems with some logs; send us a memory dump of your dive computer so we can analyze it.

We have now began a controlled roll-out for the Suunto Z rewards (Suunto D rewards should start next week) to owners of iPhones.

At this point we are looking for few Android beta testers that meet the following requirements:
-Must be based in USA.
-Must own one (or more) of the Suunto dive computers supported by DCbuddy.
-Must own an Android smartphone / tablet that supports Bluetooth 4.0 le AND is equipped with Android 4.3 or higher (preferably 4.4 and preferably Samsung S3/S4 or HTC One or Google Nexus 7 .... as those are the devices we use for our own tests).
-Must be familiar with our divePAL for iPhone App.
-Must be a DCbuddy backer (for any of the Suunto rewards).

- Must be a backer for the DCbuddy - Oceanic Veo family reward (this includes any of the following dive computers: Aeris: Atmos AI, A100, A300, A300AI, A300XT, Elite T3 and XR-2, Hollis DG03, Oceanic: Veo180, Veo180Nx, Veo 2, Veo 3, Veo 250, VT3, VT4, Pro Plus 2 and Pro Plus 3, Sherwood: Wisdom 2 and Wisdom 3.

Oceanic (Pelagic) G family

We received samples of the Connector for the Pelagic G families of dive computer.

The connector works fine on most models .... but the design needs some adjustment to fit also older models of dive computers (such as the Manta and the Geo). Based on this fact, our new estimate for this reward is end of September.
Unfortunately this delay is also affecting the IR rewards that are now scheduled for end of October.
