I watch DSD for those moments when Chatterton's voice over is going on about silt and not stirring it up, and the shot is of him entering a ship or cave or whatever flutter kicking with big poofy silt clouds getting thrown up from every kick.

There should really be a DSD diving drinking game:

- drink when you seen an inspiration
- drink when you see bad trim
- drink when you see flutter kicks
- drink when a dive computer craps out
- drink when chatterton violates rule #3 (e.g. with some homemade rebreather)

If they showed more actual diving on the show you could get really hammered...
But from what I have been told is that nobody is better at navigating/penetrating a wreck like he does. Got to give him his due...

Every one know how difficult it is to even get to 150 miles (I
was going to make the attempt once but I couldn't figure out a good way to carry
that much line!).

like, duh... you get someone else to do the first dive and lay the line, then you
don't have to worry about that

jeez..even i know the answer to that

Divesherpa:
Or better yet, take a drink every time an OW diver posts about something that they have only seen and never done. You would never be sober!!

Who says I was ever sober?

MikeFerrara:
You're right we shouldn't hang the instructor but a 200 mile cave dive is just too good to pass up having a little fun with. Every one know how difficult it is to even get to 150 miles (I was going to make the attempt once but I couldn't figure out a good way to carry that much line!). 200 is just flat out unbelievable.

You could try bread crumbs, but a GPS would work better. ;)

BigboyDan:
What cracks me up is that cave diving is seen as something worthwhile in-and-of-itself. Oceans, boys...
$50 says you've never been in a cave ;)

jonnythan:
If an OW diver is capable of kicks that don't send up silt clouds, staying in good trim, and not relying on a computer, certainly macho tech divers are as well.

yeah, and i'm not into violating rule #3. chatterbox can go ahead and have the market cornered on that one.

He must have an amazing ability to keep his head on him and exit a wreck in a silt out...

im not sure of how it was achieved, maybe it was multiple dives, id have to ask him. but dont bad mouth him you dont know him.
