That's not really what the role model is or should be about as a DM. The role model should be about one's diving skills, ability to handle small problems before they become a big problem (i.e. anticipate), safety, attitude and awarness, etc. Instructors who believe that being a role model is about what type of gear the students see the DMs in are missing the big picture.
Your point is understood. But I guess this is subject to the instructor's experiences and beliefs. BP+Wing is itself rare in Thailand............................
