DIR answer to Diving a single steel cylinder in a wetsuit

What the heck are you talking about?

To answer the OPs question, a steel SINGLE tank (that was the question...no one asked about doubles) is probably just fine in a wetsuit. The no steel with a wetsuit "rule" is about doubles because there is pretty much no way to be properly weighted with steel doubles and a wetsuit unless you are quite out of shape.

Edit: What I was talking about was in response to Grazie42 who asked if one can still be DIR even if DIR principals are sacrificed for certain dives and where one would draw the line. My response was meant to show that even those whom we would consider to be DIR and those who teach it often sacrifice DIR principals for certain dives. I advocate taking an approach to diving that puts safety first whether it has the DIR label or not.
