It might be a premium cost to you. It is very common practice in academic area.

Usually invite someone (distinguished scholar) and ask a special class. But, in reality there is no difference between assistant and distinuished ones unless you get any private mentoring from the main guy.... It is a kind of self satisfaction. I can be with someone.... My preference is one to one relationship... That is the best way you can learn.. Have you ever taken any golf lesson?

yes and i catch your drift but i also see the merits of having a class as opposed to 1:1. in a class discussion, you learn from the questions and works of your classmates. stuff you wouldnt have learned had you been alone. with a class their is a wider gamut of knowledge and discussion being shared and passed around.

I agree. As long as the class doesn't take away from your ability to learn what you came to learn. If someone or someones bring the class down because they are behind the rest of the class, then that can be a detriment.

In fact I have, though you can't tell by my scores. :11: :)

I once signed up for a Dave Pelz shortgame school that charged extra for the fact that Dave himself would be there. Fortunately, I was able to cancel without losing my deposit after I found out that the Big Guy wasn't going to be doing instruction aside from some group lectures and overseeing two new (new to Dave Pelz Golf, not to teaching golf) instructors. And for that I would be charged extra?

:06:

I guess its wise to know what you are paying extra for...

as of the moment i am considering taking my lessons elsewhere. i heard that the class might be bigger and that JJ would only fill a figurehead role and that his instructors would do all elbow greasing. oh well...

I had the same concerns for my class with JJ teaching. They ended up being unfounded. He taught every lesson. Though he did have an assistant instructor as well.

As the decision has been made by the thread originator to take either a TDI or ANDI class, this has been moved back to the appropriate forum (per PM from Carlo).
