As side note if you need some recommendations for instructors in San Diego let me know. I also teach AN/DP but I am based out of AZ. Close enough to know some good ones though.

I would love some recommendations! I know that the San Diego area has a few tech shop with great people.

Technicly you can use any nitrox computer for an/dp, but some instructors prefer certain algorithm over others, some like data logging and planning functions, I know a guy who insists you don't use a computer during class, not even as a bottom timer, just a dive watch and depth gauge..
