Derek, I think that's spot on.

Derek S:
Actually, regardless of what his personal feelings *may* be, I'd be willing to bet that he wouldn't say a word. Or at least that is the impression I got when I met him at the conference.

good to hear JJ's a class act.

let me see if I have the question right... "Guys, should I take a class with any other agency that everyone in the DIR forum would bash, or should I take a class being personally tought by God!?!"

yeah bandwidth well used...

I don't know if you regularly read posts in this forum but I haven't noticed other agencies bashing in DIR forum. Also I haven't noticed treating GUE instructors like God.

You're too sucked in to notice how funny it is obviously. It's a hoot i assure you.

It has nothing to do with agencies. It has to do with having a chance to take a class from a diver/educator that has a resume that most could only dream of. If I ever take a class with JJ it'll be because I want to take a class with JJ, not solely because it is a GUE class.

You can't tell me that you don't see the humor in a poster asking if he should take a class from TDI or GUE, in a DIR forum (a forum where only DIR answers are allowed)...

I took my Fundies from Nick Foster (no longer teaching), Rec Triox from MHK, Tech 1 from AG with Gideon Liew and Joe Talavera assisting, Cave 1 from Danny Riordan, and Tech 2 from JJ with Gideon Liew doing his instructor evaluation for Tech 2 at the same time. Apart from that, I've taken a few non-GUE classes with less well-known instructors.

The instructor I've enjoyed the most, both as an instructor but also on a personal level, has been JJ. After that it gets difficult to do the stack ranking, all of them are very good :).

JJ is an excellent instructor, and I'm sure you'll enjoy your class with him.

Well, after day 1 in class with JJ, I can say that his demeanor is excellent, he has a GREAT sense of humor, and his ability to impart knowledge in a way easy to understand is exemplerary. This is my first GUE class, but if they all go like this, it surely won't be my last.

I am VERY pleased with how this is going so far.
