Guys i have a small dilemma i was set on taking tdi's advanced nitrox coupled with deco procedures in the coming months but found out that some of my tech buds invited JJ to dive tubbattaha reef and he offered to teach the tech1 and tech2 classes himself in june to our select group. what should i do? would love to dive and learn under the tutelage of JJ!

El Orans:
There's no dilemma: I'd take Tech1/2.

not qualified to take the tech 2 just the tech 1. oh my dilemma was the price. tec1 is almost double the price of the advanced nitrox/deco procedures.

Jonix:
i'm no where near tech but i agree with laurens...take tech1/2

have him autograph your book hehehehe

I can have him wear a PPD shirt and carry the ppd banner.

Can you afford it easily?

pretty much but that means id have to sacrifice on the can light. what is the equivalent anyway of tech1 with TDI? if im not mistaken in tech 1 we will be using helium so thats advanced nitrox/deco procedures/triox/entry level trimix all in one. if i took all of those with TDI then id have to pay for each one. it might even be cheaper to take tech 1.

problem is moving up to tech 2/3 will be exponentially expensive. im just considering taking it becasue JJ is conducting it. other than that i would have gone the TDI way.

You'll get another chance to buy a can light. When will you get another chance to take a course with JJ?

Hell, I'd do it and I'm not even DIR!

R..

Like everything in life you get what you pay for. I would go the tech1 route even though I am a TDI member. BTW I don't think triox is a TDI course level so it doesn't factor into the price.

I didn't think you could move straight from Tech1 to Tech2?

No brainer....Tech 1 w/ JJ

Heck, I'd choose a few rec dives with JJ over any class (not taught by JJ). Period.

Great guy, super person.
