It's a twofer. I am already plotting a return to stop by and say hello to these guys.
So #1 today with 3P's was Columbia deep and Steve noticed there were no less than 7-8 cameras and video rigs on the boat so he decided for #2 we'd drop on Columbia shallows for 1 1/2 hours and let everyone take advantage of the bright sun, minimal drift and ability to root around to their hearts content in 30' of water. Now, Steve B usually appreciates Columbia shallows about as much as a colonoscopy but today was different as DM Edgar took all on a new route that delivered spectacular sightings. Ummm.. how about multiple turtle sightings including a swimming pair, multiple nurse sharks, rays, a green moray we stalked through and under the coral heads, an eagle ray cruising the sand just off the reef, in addition to all the little critters brightly lit by the sun. I've said it before, deeper doesn't always mean better, just shorter. Even Steve B was satisfied with a nice kill Edgar will eat for dinner! That's right... all on Columbia shallows and taken today... Gary... was a nice lion and worth bringing back on the boat but still can't compare to that monster you nailed last year for multiple photo ops during the SI but be warned... we'll keep searching!
