I believe I am honing in on the location of the erojacks. Each time I go to the area the viz is down.
I'm not sure if you can make them out on a good viz day but I certainly could see no sign of them
on a low viz day. I walked to the beach using the boardwalk coming from the first parking lot inside
John Lloyd park. I believe the erojacks are somewhere between the pier and this walk through that is
south of the pier. As I walked north from the walk through location toward the pier I noticed a wood
4 X 4 marker at the edge of the vegetation and the sand. This marker was very close to midway
between the walk through and the pier. Is this marker related to the location of the erojacks ?
If it is I compared the distances from the public parking area and the walk through from south
parking lot in John Lloyd park and found them to be about the same. If anyone knows a bit more
about this marker up on the beach and its' relation to the erojacks any extra info would be appreciated.

Not sure about the wood marker. I always walk from the north dania beach parking lot, heading north. Sometimes, there is at least the very tip of a jack on the beach you can use as a reference, but usually, I walk north till i don't feel like walking anymore, swim east for about 100 yards while drifting south. Eventually you will see them under you. Just know that they don't go all the way to the beach, so make sure you are out far enough east.

I've used that concrete jack on the beach - but it's not real accurate from what I recall. I haven't dove this dive in a few years but I'm liking the "usually, I walk north till i don't feel like walking anymore" approach ...

Seriously, I say we just ask Jenny.

Pretty sure that's how I initially found them many years ago :D

Somebody mention rum?? eh, uh, the jacks?? :D

If you do a google search for Dania pier, then switch to satellite mode, you can see the jacks... It's actually a little bit shorter of a swim (but longer walk) from John U Lloyd State park. Haven't done the jacks from the park in years. They closed the beach for a few years to eradicate the invasive non native trees, so we had to do the jacks from Dania. I haven't done them from the park since. The piece of wood you speak of, I'm pretty sure was not there then. I do remember it's a frickin' long walk though from the parking lot, across the bridge, past the nude sunbathers gawking at my male dive buddies, over hot sand.. .blah blah blah.
From what I recall, once we got in the water, I would swim south for a few minutes then head SE towards the end of the pier. You will eventually run into them. If you think you've swam far enough.. swim more. LOL. Same goes for getting to the jacks from Dania Beach, 'cept head north then north east for a while.

CORRECTION: Make that the SOUTH parking lot of John Lloyd Park. I believe it was Lot 1.

Thanks Jenny, I see what your saying. Just wondering how far out onto the jacks that heading would put me. I'll check the google satellite image and make sure a SE heading from the beach in John Lloyd does not allow me to pass them by a few degrees. Not sure how far out they are, thanks for the info !

I did see a concrete jack leaving the park somewhere around the check in gate. I only walked part way south toward the pier on the beach
so I may have missed any other jacks on the beach. Yeah, once I know where they start I can come up with a good angle from
whichever location I start from.

yes, as close as you can get to the path that goes over the bridge. You used to be able to park in that field to the south of the parking lot. Then they closed it.. but the last time I was at the park, I saw people parking there..

you have to swim pretty far out to miss them, the end of the pier is about halfway out.

that concrete jack at the entrance has nothing to do with the ones in the water other than an example of what they look like. last time I dived the jacks, there was one in the sand, it is almost straight west of the jacks. Can't remember if it is a hair north or south though..

That area is still open, you are able to park right next to the foot path and bridge that goes over the creek.
I found the jacks on the beach, one broken in the sand and the full jack set back just a bit in the scrub grass.
I had marked the location on my gps based on coordinates I got from the google satellite image and they ended up
almost right at that location. I was unable to see any jacks above the surface at what I think was low tide, but the seas were very rough so not sure on that one. Now that I know exactly where they are I can decide on the best approach. Appreciate the info and I'll report back after I make a dive there if these seas are ever going to settle down a bit !
