I was also thinking that's a piston regulator based on the fact that it's slowly leaking air one bubble per second from behind the plastic cap. Probably the piston o-ring is starting to get hardened.

I checked, and the D2 uses the same parts kit as the Mares R2. I also checked a few internal part numbers such as the piston and the piston spring, and they are the same. Very likely just cosmetic differences on a few external parts for branding and styling.

Thanks, that makes sense. It was damn obvious it wasn't a MR12 like people kept saying on the board.
