Don't people that live in different environments develop different antibodies in their system? I don't know but it seems feasible to me it can effect people differently depending on where they live.

"Some folks?" Are you so sure about that? Check your own behavior before you throw stones. Before any U.S. Citizen points their finger at another U.S. Citizen claiming they are racist or privileged, or whatever based on the words they use they should look at themselves. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of U.S. Citizens consider the term "American" to be synonymous with "U.S. Citizen" and their use of it broadcasts their privileged entitlement to the world that We The People of the USA are the only "Americans" that really matter and totally ignores the fact that every person living in North, Central and South America are all "Americans" by proper definition.

Not this nonsense again. The country USA is the only country in the world with America as part of it's official name and thus a person in that country is rightfully called an American, just as a person from Mexico is called a Mexican and a person from Panama is called a Panamanian. And btw, note that the actual country name of Mexico is Estados Unidos Mexicanos so there are multiple countries with United States in their name. The only unique part of USA is America.

Still, Americans is not a term people from the US call themselves out of entitlement, it is a term the Rest of the World used to identify the people of the USA. So if some butt-hurt person from Panama or Brazil want to call themselves an American for some reason, it's on them when others get confused.

No, mainly because I cited the virgin soil effect a page ago. It’s certainly possible that asians may be less susceptible to a strain of anything, but unlikely anything relatively new in this day and age of global travel. I would also say that there are enough individuals of Asian origin in North America to explore your hypothesis. I.E. if infection rates were clearly lower in the Asian population due to their genetic heritage, but I haven’t see that data... I’d be interested though.

I lived and worked in Peru for a while. In the briefing my company gave me before I went down there one of the first things they told me was to never refer to myself as an American to differentiate myself from someone who lived there.
