I have heard good things on here about Casa Mexicana. One item I don’t see mentioned is outside noise. Being so close to downtown and the main road, is it hard to sleep? We stayed at Hotel Cozumel one and the room facing the street was loud with street noise, sirens etc

They beds are so nice there I don’t recall hearing any noise.

I slept like a baby, but I had one of the rooms facing inland.

We recently went and had construction going on below our balcony for our stay. We were facing inland, second level. Even with the construction, there was no issue with noise whatsoever. Non-issue and I would happily stay there again.

You could ask for a higher floor room- facing the courtyard (inside)

I believe Tres Pelicanos dive shop packages booked at Casa Mexicana are generally high level floors with good rooms. That is what I did before and really enjoyed it. No noise to speak of.

Great breakfast buffet and easy walk to the dive shop in the morning. Also close to town.

Enjoy!

I’m staying there now. The walls are a tad thin so you may hear noise from other rooms. I’m at the back of the hotel so I don’t hear any street noise. I did hear music last night till after 2:30am, but it was the day of the dead and a big celebration.

I've only had one issue with noise at CM. A Carnival ship (I think) was parked at the dock out front. They were welcoming guests back by blaring music from the dock. We were on the top floor, facing the cruise ship. Not only did the music and voices come through the closed sliding glass door, but it also bounced off the open air atrium behind us and came under our room door.

Other than that, Cozumel rolls up their sidewalks by 7 PM and all is quiet. That one day was "special" though....

Edit: The best rooms are on the top floor on the south side. I think 618 might be the best (end room with no adjoining room), but that's a faint recollection. Adjoining rooms definitely have sound coming through under the door.
