I posted this in another thread, but it was at the end of a pretty long one; my apologies if you've seen this already:

I will be on Cozumel May 8-22, staying at Caribe Blu, diving with Blue Angel. I'd love to meet other SB'ers down there, so here's what I'm doing to "troll for ScubaBoarders". I've got some of that Day-Glo yellow green survey tape (like they use to mark trees), and whenever I go out and about on Cozumel, I will affix an unobtrusive yet obvious piece of it to a belt loop or something. If you see that, feel free to walk right up and introduce yourself. Also, feel free to get some of this tape and similarly mark yourself, and if I see it, I'll introduce MYself.

Cheers,

good idea 'g', i'll see what i can come up with

I will be there May 7-14, staying at La Ceiba and diving with Martin. I will see what I can find, I know I have some of that tape somewhere. Would a specific side and place be useful, like on left side belt area so it can be seen from both front or behind? That way if we pass on the street, the "flags" would be on the same side and easier to see.

My best friend owns a surveying Co. He would love this idea. Heck, for Halloween every year, he makes some elaborate costume soley out of survey tape.!
I'll tie some on my hat!

Rick Inman:
Ok, this is an extremely nerdy, embarrassing idea of Gordies...

Well, What can I say? I AM an engineer, after all. ;^)

That woman who out of embarrassment is walking a minimum of fifteen feet away from me would be my wife...

Nah, that's too... um, organized. When I'm wearing sandals, I just may tie some survey tape around my big toe. Or maybe I'll tie some around my hat and let a tail of it fly 10 feet behind me. I can feel my wife cringing now from 15 miles away... ;^)

When you started this thread yesterday I was wondering what your wife thought of the idea. I can see her shaking her head now lol.

Gordon you are so funny you have been to Coz a million times and your still like a big kid at Christmas I love it.

Have fun and tell your wife to wear a hat and dark sunglasses :shades:

Nerdy- no way!?

Hummm- now where did I put the fluorescent yellow pocket protector? :)

Last night my wife asks, "So, what's that yellow tape you're packing for?"

I said, "Ah... well, I'm tying a piece on my belt buckle."

"Oh," she says, "To support that troops while we're in Cozumel. That's very sweet, dear."

"The troups... Yeah, that's it..." ;)
