I know I will catch some flack for this but Prima's is overated. I think you'd be better off at Guido's.

I will once again cast another vote for Casa Denis.

I had an awesome meal at The Mission but it was at the location that closed (by La Choza). Never been to the other locations.

I have heard a lot of good things about Ambar's but have never been... anybody been there?

You owe it to us to do restaraunt reviews when you get back!
I stay off the strip when in Coz. The food is overrated there and very over priced. La Choza, good. La Parroquia, right behind the church and up the stairs, good, La Mision, the one that is east deep in town, great, Abuelito Gerardo, kiddy corner from the church, good too. All these places have authentic Mexican food and great prices. When I go to Mexico I want to eat authentic Mexican food. I can get great Italian food right here in Chicago. Make sense ? Plus I go on a budget. I even stock up on goodies and fiil the fridge at the hotel to snack on. I don't eat much when diving anyway, but that's me. Mostly I drink liquids, :crafty: of the spirited kind .:beerchug: I stock the fridge with that too. Good Viz, George

I just got back from Cozumel, the Lobster House north of town was great.
Yes they are good, aren't they ? I think they are the exception. Good Viz, George

Hmmm I love Lobster. Tell me more about them. North of town..by the airport? Fancy Place? More please.

*Sigh* I thought we had you convinced to do Casa Denis in the other thread...oh well.

Conchita del Caribe is only open for lunch which is why I never got a chance to try it last week but I got 2 recomendations from locals and another by a guy who was on a 2 month DM internship. You might want to give it a try.

Check her post again. She has edited in Casa Denis for Saturday.

Lobster House is across the street from Playa Azul... in the north hotel zone.

Fancy - No!, Quaint - Yes! ALL they serve is Lobster w/potatoes and/or rice. You pick the tail you want, they cook it and bring it to you. Nothing too difficult, just great tail! Last time I got a 2 lb. tail and it cost about $50-$60. It was more than enough for 2 of us to share.

Bring your camera, there are lots of photo ops in and around the place.

Wow! Very interesting. I'm not sure if the group likes lobster as much as I do, so I'll have to run it by them.
I do plan on doing a hotel inspection of Playa Azul on Thursday so I'll check it out regardless.
Thanks

It's a couple of palapa topped buildings lit only by candles with a water filled ditch that meanders around and between them. Little bridges cross the ditch, and there are geese wandering the yard. I asked them about the geese and they told me that they raise a ruckus if someone comes on the property after hours. Watchgeese, I guess you'd call 'em.

Ok, i started the other thread and I appreciate all the restaurant ideas along with the links to other sites. I've got 4 to feed along with keeping my wife from going berzerk spending money in the square. So, in terms of evening meals at casual, inexpensive restaurants heres what i've come up with (family is fairly picky also as to what they prefer, too much time in Oklahoma): Casa Denis, Chilangos (yellow building by baseball field???), Kelly's (10th ave between salas adn 1st), Especias, Diamond Cafe, Senor Bobs Patio, Plaza Leza and Coffelia. Realistically we'll probably only eat at 3-4 of these so help me narrow it down. I'm really looking for a low key, relaxed, very casual atmosphere. Fancy restaurants aren't at all necessary. Almost kind of like a tavern/eatery type place where we can all eat and my wife and I can have a few drinks. Thanks in advance. GT2003
