Are there any shore locations for non diving fossil hunters? If so what are they like?

The only fossil hunting is in about 35ft of water....

The river cuts through the marsh. In order to get to the fossils you'd have to dig down 35ft through the swamp muck...that's not going to happen.

Sounds like you need to take up diving!

Thanks for the info.I dive but my wife dosen't.I was looking for a place to go with her on a non diving day to look for stuff.Don't mind a little mud but 35 feet is a little deep.

land fossil hunting martin maretta owns a limestone quarry on the orangeburg/berkley county line; that let people in to hunt for fossils on sundays when they aren,t mining. i,ve haven,t been there in a while myself,but i have found some nice teeth there. it,s been really warm here lately so watch your step. if interested in diving the cooper e-mail me
