Condensation for the S&S Aquapix

Okay.......so here's the next prob.......a fellow instructor has a newly purchased S&S Aquapix and mentioned it has a recall due to condensation. AND..... the ready time to take another picture is torture.
So..........any recomondations for digital with video capabilities at a meager cost? Or is the Aquapix still worth it?

I'd go for the Canon A series, myself.
