I just boght some pencil dive slates. Of course I bought the little tiny bottle of cleaner for $3.95. What else can you use to clean your dive slate?

I use Windex when I'm home or a corner of my towel (rubbing hard) at the dive site. I dive a local quarry and there is no sand, just silt. If you have sand, rub the slate with that and it will clean it.

For my wrist slate I use one of those green dish washing sponges(?) that's commonly used to scrub pots and pans + I use with soap, toothpaste or dish washing liquid. However, it's a PITA so I also carry, and often prefer, wetnotes - just tear out and throw away pages as they fill up...

I'll try the Windex swipes next time, but if someone know the 'magic' cleaner to easily remove pencil off a white slate, I want to know too.

Those mr clean sponge dealies work wonders.
Ditto. I didn't believe it until I bought some. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser sponges clean slates remarkably well! Other alternatives include sand (as mentioned) and SOS pads.

The same bottle of Softscrub used to clean masks.

I like the Mr. Clean sponge idea.

Believe it or not, toothpaste works great. It has enough abrasives I guess to scrub it clean.

My favorite cleaning concoction is a paste of baking soda and baby shampoo. Cleans easily and keeps the surface of the slate with just the right writing finish.
