Pretty day outside (74 degrees) , but with a 3' rise in water level and stong west winds (waves) vis was only 6-7 shallow, 2-4' deep. We dove 107' for dive time of 58 min.
Still we had fun (we are easily amused). A large striped bass swam with us for 10 minutes and we ran into a nice sized cat. water temp is 53 degrees. Small fish at depth, negatively bouyant though (?). We are diving Sat at 10a.

Yall have fun. I think it will be a few weeks before I can dive again. This morning I tore the tendons loose in my knee. It looks like surgery and 12 weeks of repair time.:depressed::depressed:

You are going to have to get a camera and email my some video.:depressed:

Ouch! Sorry to hear about the knee. Isn't diving "physical therapy" for the knee - bending and flexing in a weightless environment (that is what I would argue with the Doc). The only thing I can say is get the surgery done quickly so that you will be healed up when the water warms.

Is there a site detail about this location? Also at what time are you diving on Sunday?

We are diving at 1pm. The navigation is fairly easy. Enter the water at the corner of E. Dam. Begin your dive along the rocks at about 15' (stay on the rocks). You will run into a rope laying on the bottom that leads down to the tail of the plane (currently about 19' or so. The plane is a Mitsubishi MU-2 (Google if you want to see a picture). A second rope off the tail of the plane (West side of plane) takes you along the bouyancy course to the ski boat which is at the bottom of the rocks. Keep the rock upslope on your right and you are heading back to shore or the rope to the plane. A North heading off the nose of the plane takes you to the "missle" as it is known locally (actually the wing tank off the plane). Navigation not so good, then aim a little right of North and you will hit a line that leads to the "missle". The "missle" is at 82' when the water is at full pool (down 13' now, so 69'). About 3' off the nose of the "missle" and upslope about 3' feet is a line leading to the 80' wall. Other stuff - a 25 degree heading off the plane takes you to the 3 big rocks (yeah there are more than three - they are in 54' at full pool, 41' now). About halfway down the parking lot (just beyond the trash can) is a rock ledge that runs parallel to the parking lot in 30-40' (currently 17 - 27'). There is much more stuff but this is a start.

Sunday ended up being high winds and high waves. Since when is Clarks Hill supposed to look like North Shore Ohau? Even the wind surfers gave up. Oh well...

I have to make it over there for a dive. But 55 min dive times on 80s is out of my league. Are you diving 80s? Anyone dive with you that has 40-45 min dives?

Hopfully I can get up after the first of the year. If I can stop haveing thing's pop up. I'll give you a call when I have some date's. I may be able to get up there on the 10th, but not before 11a-11:30 if y'all don't mind a later morning.

I am usually in steel 80's or 100's. This time of year 80's are plenty if diving wet. Our site is multilevel with stuff to see from 10' to 80' or so . We plan our dives such that we adjust our route and bottom time based on where folks are with air consumption. Newer divers join us from time to time. We don't mind adjusting our bottom time at all. This time of year, the cold is usually the bigger factor. It was 54 degrees the other day. If you are diving wet, this means 7mm wetsuit with hood (or better yet hooded vest), gloves, etc. or drysuit. Send me a PM if you are interested in joining us and we will find you a buddy.
