Sorry MHK. I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers. Believe me I've done a lot of reading lately about DIR and GUE and do have a lot of respect for GUE. I've also in my life journey seen many good things degrade through too much change. From your statements I don't expect it to affect GUE, but if people like me didn't ask the questions then change would occur without input from the down stream user of the product. That is NOT a good idea

No worries.. One of the things I hope many come to appreciate about GUE is that while change does inevitably happen, it doesn't happen for the sake of money. Many, if not all, of the changes generally err on the side of requiring additional skills, information and/or requirments.

I suspect once the dust settles, and a few people take the class most will arrive at the conclusion that the subtle changes weren't earth shattering, and that they will ultimately enure to the benefit of the student.

Hope that helps.

One Class to rule them all,
One class to find them,
One class to bring them all,
and in the Darkness Bind them!!

In GUE where the Dark Side dwells.

Sorry couldn't help it!! :D

Disclaimer: No harm or ill intent meant. Just thought it was fitting and funny!!

I am not local to anyone, so will have to start synchronizing time-offs with buddy (ahem teamster) as soon as some schedules are available for next year.

I (or we, as there are two Fundie-committed students in this town) am in Saratoga/Albany area. You already are in my shortlist to check out for instructors once I figured out where Vestal was. (As my complicated English might give out, I am not very local to my locale).

I have been trying to hold my horses, not to start serious enquiries until new year since I know it's a looong winter ahead to wait for the course. I sure would be interested in hearing where and how you might be planning to run next years Fundies. I'd like to get a few dives under my belt with a long hose setup, and then right on to Fundies. 50 dives on our own (both total newbies) this summer, and there are probably a few things worth a head shake built-in by now. Need that revamp a'la Fundies and quick.

I can vouch that Bob is a first-rate instructor and a heckuva nice guy to boot. You'll be hard-pressed to find someone better to learn from here in the northeast!
