CCR Try-dive: I was worse that I imagined and it was awesome!

It's definitely not an understatement when people say "Did I just make a $10k mistake?" during that first training dive. I know I did! But now, even after only 20ish hours on the loop, I've got a TON to learn, but I'm absolving it.

Guilty as well. Now it is all I dive.

That and diving nice moist air, not ending the dive with cotton mouth. OC diving will suddenly sound like a Harley with open pipes. You may not see them, but you will know when other OC divers are around. Go to bail out and suddenly those bubbles you had been blowing for so long and never paid much attention to are suddenly annoying loud.

There are a few more reasons to justify a rebreather.

The moist air is what I’m really looking forward to. I get the worse cotton mouth on OC, regardless of how well hydrated I am. Mine is scheduled to ship Sept 16.

Agreed. I'm in Roatan right now, and four days in on OC my voice is getting raspy. Happens every time.
