I'm no plant expert...

...but I've stayed at a Holiday Inn Express.

That being said, I'm guessing(totally no scientific basis to back this up) that when the water levels pick up and flow increases in P1, it'll be able to move onto P2 and P3. Right now, there's nowhere for the duckweed to go.

It's on P1 and P3 now, skipping P2. Ah, the mysteries of life. It makes for some really cool photos, though!

I read that it is consumed in some countries. Duckweed salad, anyone?

It takes less water for P2 to flow into P3 as it does for P1 to flow into P2/P3. I'm guessing P2 spat its duckweed into P3 when the water was high enough to connect the two, but was still too low for P1 to spill into P2.

All this is just straight up guessing though.

Mat is moving the duckweed and doesn't want anyone to know -
evidence caught by GLENFWB:

Perhaps it came from divers' gear who dove at Orange Grove and then went to P1.

SeaYoda's right... I've been secretly transporting duckweed from the panhandle to sites further East. I don't like rinsing my gear after a cave dive! :D

... like a little duckweed is gonna make me want to rinse my gear.

shoot, bugman doesn't even rinse the pee out of his wetsuit

That's the real reason it was standing up by itself - not ice :shocked2:.

He peed on it and it froze over... :shocked2:
