I dove dry until mid-July, but wet the last few weeks. Its been toasty the last few weeks.
 
Also: Is it easy to hook up with a dive buddy there?
Or post the dates you're going to be in socal and someone might be free to join you.
 
I've been diving a 3/2mm full wetsuit for the last three months and a 3mm "water conditioned" shorty for the last two weeks. Depending on the depth of your dive and the number of dives you do a day, a 5mm or a 7mm may be more appropriate. I have sufficient bioprene to keep me warm! Min temp on my last two dives (no deeper than 50 ft) was 70 and 72 F.
