The FUtura is the one with the speed tubes. Another good Idea. Id sure like to find someone who has this CAT boat to find out if it's gimmick or a great idea.....

WC the zodiac I bought is a 1994 FC470 (the military zodiac) with the speed chambers...not sure thats what you are talking about but just an fyi

I will just go ahead and tell you, I would not get that cat. I would get a Futura or similar. The hull is deeper and it is a proven good design in service for years with more useable room. N

I have been looking at these and I think it's a great idea for a fast dive boat for two or three also as a sail boat tender/exploration craft. Im thinking the cat hull would be more beachable that a regular blow up boat, track better and be more fuel effecent. What Im wondering is if anyone has one or has first hand experence in one? What did you think? BTW the 15 footer not shown is the one Im looking at.

With such a small boat (15 ft) these hulls will not have the buoyancy you need to carry heavy scuba divers with gear. At least not high enough to keep waves from hitting the "belly" of the boat, slowing you down considerably.

My first post on the site...

I have a 99 Mako cat hull inflatable........ it rips............... (as in it runs damn fast)

they are stable, and quick, turn like a slot-car, and ride dry. mostly dry......

This boat is for sale, since I bought a brand new DuxBoat just because they had a
sale.............

--other names of these types of boats:

ZapCat
Thunder Ducks
Dux Boats
Mako
and a few others I can't remember right now.....

pm me if you might be interested in the Mako........
