I was curious if anyone knows how big the dive park actually is? Distance around the outside? Total area? Distance from shore to outside? That kind of information.

You can probably get all the info you need from the Franko's map of the Casino dive park. They sell them at Sport Chalet and probably most dive stores for $5 or $6. As I recall it has a scale on it, and also shows depth contours and locations of the interesting sights.

I don't have my copy available, or I could answer your questions specifically. It's not available because I loaned it to someone and haven't seen it since. I don't want to mention names, but the person who borrowed it has a name that starts with SAPPHIRE.

Roughly, the marine park is 200 yards along shore and 100 yards out. Is that close enough?

Sorry, Jim... I have your map but did not have it with me when I saw you in La Jolla... I actually bought you a new one because yours got a bit dog-eared in AndrewJD's drysuit pocket!

Dr. Bill was in Brea giving a talk to the Shark Bait Dive Club and just returned to Catalina before heading down to San Diego to meet up with the group from AZ.

Sorry to disappoint folks... I don't know the dimensions of the Dive Park to the inch (or even the cm). They change every time the buoys get readjusted! We're hoping by the end of summer that they will extend from Hamilton Cove past Lover's Cove!!!
