Not big enough. Need enough bouys to hand some good chain at our just 1 foot below the surface. Somthing to get the treaspassing boaters attention as his propeller or his keel hits it.

Sorry to disappoint folks... I don't know the dimensions of the Dive Park to the inch (or even the cm). They change every time the buoys get readjusted! We're hoping by the end of summer that they will extend from Hamilton Cove past Lover's Cove!!!

Of course dodging ships, boats, dinghys (sp?) kayaks, rowboats and other floating vessels would be no fun on THAT side of the new Dive Park. But for all of us that sort of sneak out and dive the rocks that are on the Hamilton side, we'd now be IN the park.

The Valiant would be in the park if we re-drew to those boundaries... not too shabby. All the goofballs that dive it from the current park wouldn't ascend to find Mr. Harbor Patrol waiting.... I dunno about that one.

However, a re-survey of the park would have the compensating virtue of putting DrB the GSB (and his harem - currently residents of Lovers Cove) actually within Scuba range... so maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

Actually, we dodge our fare share of vessels WITHIN the current park, don't we pal? :11:

Maybe leaving it like it currently is would be best. Who knows, maybe we'll wake up to find the kismet back OUTSIDE of the park again after another winter storm....

Ken

PS: Kaz - your best bet might be one of the newly minted DM's. Many of them produce maps of the park with exceptional attention to topographic detail - I wouldn't be surprised if some have actually kicked or even measured the distance buoy to buoy around the parameter.

I, for one, am both shocked and disappointed .... and when did you begin referring to yourself in the 3rd person?

Boats? Who said anything about boats? Once the boundary is extended all boaters will have to anchor outside. Of course a major source of revenue for the City will disappear, but think of how happy we divers will be. After all, isn't self-interest a major motivator in everything people do? Look at the fishers and the MLPA process... weren't even willing to give us 20-30%. To heck with everyone else, it's all about ME and like-thinkers (other divers who are content to hunt only outside reserves).

Yeah, that would be the ticket.

Oops, where are my meds when I need them?
