Flew to Cozumel on March 10 and dove the next three days with Tres Pelicanos before returning home. I met up with a friend and we stayed at Casa Mexicana, which was a good hotel. It was my first time staying there. The breakfast buffet was very good. Diving with Tres Pelicanos was excellent. They are a good operation with good staff, and are extremely helpful. I dropped off my gear with them after checking into the hotel, and they took care of it until I left. They are located about a block away from the hotel, which was convenient. For meals, we usually ate at Casa Denis for lunch and Kinta for dinner. Kinta is my new favorite Cozumel restaurant.

What is the secret to not having any backscatter ?

Whenever I use my strobes, all the particles in the water light up.
 
Excellent pics but that first wide angle is an absolute stunner!

Backscatter is the result of the reflected strobe light being captured by the camera. This happens because the strobe is too near the camera. To avoid backscatter, the strobe light should be separated from the camera something like a feet or more.

So I should extend the strobe arms and/or angle the strobes pointing outward ?
 
Ron, that is what I would recommend. Pointing out the strobes about 10 degrees is important, and I also position the strobes behind the plane of the detector, too. Finally, for full disclosure, I looked at the original unedited photo, and there were a few points of backscatter that I had edited out.
