If ya ain't happy here. PLEASE GO AND QUIT COMPLAININ'
(not a reference to you kelpmermaid)

EXCUUUUSE ME... That attitude is quite un-American if you consider how the founding fathers intended things to be. True patriots often question their country, especially when it is wrong. It is the blind or uncaring that accept things as they are without question.

Shame on you, Scuba_Jenny.

NO, Dr. Bill
Not shame on me. Shame on those people that complain, complain, complain and yet do nothing. If you are not happy here, do something about it, or leave. Please go find happiness someplace else.
I knew a woman from South Africa and she always was saying how much better the South Africans had it, the standard of living, the education, everything. She was so quick to point out all the failures of the United States. I often told her to go back if she was so miserable here, but she always came up with an excuse why she had to stay.
Same way with living down here. Its hot. Its humid. If you don't like hot, humid weather, go someplace else. Quit Complaining.

I dont want ot hear stuff like this. American intelligence has gone down the tubes lol.

I was diving off Panama City this weekend, on one of the bridge spans (4 miles offshore).

A fellow diver turned to me after the dive brief, looked 360d around the boat and said:

"There was a bridge out here?"

Jenny,

Amen, sista! Amen! Well said!!!! :usa:

With more people voting than any other time in history, a solid majority (both popular and electoral) of our people has made the will of the nation very clear.

(As a footnote, I understand that the People's Socialist Republics of San Francisco and Berkely have applied for status as provinces of Canada, but only time will tell if Canada will accept them! :11:)

Now, however, it's time for the whining to stop, and to get down to the business of securing freedom by striking down Terror International wherever it raises its ugly head.

Even as we speak, our forces on the ground, combined with Iraqui troops, are beginning an all-out effort to secure Fallujah, and eradicate the nest of snakes holed up there, in order to give the Iraqui people a chance to have a free and democratic nation. My prayers are with them.

God bless the USA!

And as a post-script to the above, our men and women are doing their usual very fine job of pounding the terrorist scum even as I write!!

i love americans but...they can be sooo clueless! one day when i was in the US, i told sum1 i was from canada and they asked me wat language we speak there...they also think we live in iglooss.......

I am old enough to have gone through the Cuban missile crisis, the Vietnam War, the Nixon presidency and Watergate, the Reagan presidency and Iran-Contra, and now the B-C and Iraq. To be fair I went through the Carter presidency and Iran and the Clinton presidency and Monica.

During the Vietnam era protestors were told "America, Love it or Leave It." It is interesting to see that even one of the architects of that war, Robert McNamara, has acknowledged that much of the protest was based on a more realistic understanding of the events.

I have spent more decades than many of you have been alive doing what I could to make this country live up to its great potential. I have been an educator, an environmentalist, a scientist and a political protestor. Please do not try to tell me I haven't spent much of a lifetime trying to DO something about things here.

Give it a few years, or maybe a few decades since many records have been questionably sealed... I think you will find the truth is not what you think it is.

With respect for the personal opinions of others, but don't ever tell me to get out of this country! I'll leave when I'm ready.

Dr. Bill

Well-said Dr. Bill. Than again what do I know, I'm just a dumb Canadian who thinks everyone has the right to an opinion even those who are closed minded to the views of others. Speak up and be heard for if you don't no one will ever listen to you.
Jason
PS: If you ever decide to leave the US I'm sure Canada will love to have ya.

Hey, Bill,

I think it's really funny to see an aging Leftist like yourself quoting Robert McNamara, of all people. That's just too ironically funny for words. As one who was actually there in Vietnam, as opposed to both yourself and Bobby McNamara, I would have to say that yes, there were a lot of stupid decisions made by our government. I would not even pretend to defend all of it. By the same token, the reasons that drove that little fracas extend farther back into history than most people know.

There was also a lot of outrageous and despicable behaviour on the part of protestors. People such as Jane Fonda, and John Kerry told lies about our servicemen, acting directly to aid and abet the enemy.

I have spent as many decades as you working to protect the people of this country so that this country CAN live up to its great potential. I am an educator, and an evironmentalist, as you are. The world needs such folk. The world also needs its warriors, to protect such folk so that they can go about their business. Both groups deserve respect.

But hey, give it a few years, or maybe a few decades since many records have been sealed... I think you will find the truth is not what you think it is.

I have great respect for the opinions of others, as long as they act like decent human beings. I didn't tell you to leave the country, but if you are really that unhappy with the US of A....

Cheers! :whack:
