Q2 i don't own a wrist depth gauge. I don't wanna get water inside the hose and destroy the whole console..
.
thank you for all your helpful comments. much obliged. let me see if i can isolate one of the depth gauges. as to the mask/hood issue, both my hoods are rather thick neoprene and snug fit, and i was wearing gloves which makes arrangement a bit tricky, also water temp like mentioned wasn't exactly tropical, guess it takes a while to learn the ins and outs of your equipment. if all else fails i still can make the eyeslit a wee bit bigger, as others have done before.
the noseclip I was using after i gave up on the masks and decided to instead don some swimming goggles, i had bought on decathlon earlyer the day for 1.59€ to my great surprize they give a pretty decent view both on surface and submerged. not really a world of a difference to my aqualung tec dive mask (which BTW has a really thin strap, if that thing pops at 50m you've had one hell of a tec dive LOL.) if you live near a decathlon grab one on the next visit. they're bright yellow one-size-fits all and worth 20 times the money. great for swimming, triathlon, or for the kids as a gift when you're teaching a class. gotta get those kids off their iphones and back into the water
also I have read up a bit and seen that the only earplug people recommend is the doc's so If i ever need earplugs I'll just get those.. And yes of course I know about equalization, it's just been ages since I've hit the water, been spending pretty much the last 10 yrs on a computer. if i remember right tho i once could do slightly over 50m on one breath in our local pool. but that was when i was a teen, over 20 yrs ago.
yes, they're only for surface action. but they have sortova double seal and don't hurt much like some other models. at 3-4m I felt my ears like crazy but the goggles I didn't even feel. 36 - Swimming - Xbase Easy Yellow
