Can anyone give me any history about this regulator?

I posted the following over at the Scubapro forum but they are notorious at slow to no answering. I thought it would have a better chance at getting answered over here than there.

I picked up a R295 yellow 2nd stage at some point over the last several years. I never recorded it's serial number as I only used them in when training students and not when traveling myself. I was surprised to see the serial number! It says "BETA-TEST 04".

Can anyone give me any history with this one? Thanks!

Have you contacting Scubapro? I'm sure they would be the best source of information on anything with a serial starting with "BETA".
