You can buy the skirt alone, about $25 to see if it fits and hunt for a used regular to put all the bits on, I paid up for my first one and liked it, found a steal on another with a clear skirt, switched to the spare black skit after reminding myself why clear skirts shouldn’t be made.

The Bubble Trouble Zone.There isn’t a single hose regulator that will not put bubbles in your face in some odd position, but a DH makes it nearly impossible. I rarely see bubbles with the D420 or any other reg. When I do it’s from moving into a position that puts my mask into the trouble zone, doesn’t happen often enough to be an issue, don’t seek faults, it may lead to less irritation
