likely about half price at LP.

hi, I have been to LP and here is my experience. The showroom was not that big ( unless I missed something). They did seem to have a back room that said employees only. maybe if you asked they will have other sutff to see that is not out on the floor.
the subway did drop me off fairly close as well.
the saleseman was not helpful, but then again, I did all the research myself ( mostly opinions here ). this seems to be the consistant experience based on other posts.
if you do go to the shop, have them ship it to save the tax.
I have heard issues of durability and the suit is not as warm, but this is opinion that is not verified.
final thought: I have also ordered items and returned them without any problems.

Sales person was less than helpful. I asked what combo would be best, a 7/5 full suit with a 5mm core warmer? There are so many options I wasn't sure which way to go. He really couldn't help me. I was less than impressed although their prices seem good.

They quote $113 for the tank and $60 for the bracket, which is comparable to the LDS price. I didn't check the SPG, but that should be around $40 anyhow, and I have a good service relationship, so I'd rather have that done locally. I'm all for dealing with LP, but only if the cost savings makes it worthwhile.

Agreed. At comparable cost (even close) I'll go with the LDA too.

My impression of LP based on comments I've heard is that most of the folks there are not divers and are not much help. Prices are great, customer service (processing orders/rerurns) is generally OK....advice is not really available.
I've had good experience ordering from Simplyscuba.com in the UK....although I never used them for "advice".
