Steramine and grass.

I was thinking of getting a bottle of Steramine to use on our wetsuits but would like some feedback on how it does with grass. When I soak our gear, I siphon the rinse water off and into the edge of my yard, close to some rhodies. I have read that Steramine can do some harm to plant life, so wanted to get input from folks with first hand experience before buying some.

Why are you putting Steramine on wetsuits? That's not what it's good for. Use it on your regulators, rebreather loop, kitchen counter etc.

For wetsuits use an enzymatic cleaner like SinkTheStink or Mirazyme that will actually do something useful with neoprene like take the funk out of it. No idea how it is on the flowers.

Steramine can kill grass and other plants. It's a QUAT sterilizer, and it is biocidal and can destroy the cellular structure of plants. Of course, the solution to "pollution" is dilution. So if you sterilize your gear and then remove it, I suppose you can add enough water to the bin/container you use as a wash basin and then dump it and it won't harm the grass.

Or just run a siphon hose into your neighbor's yard

Ok, good information that I probably should have realized. I think I assumed that since DGX had it listed in the Exposure Suit Care section, I got lazy and didn’t read the details.
