Swiming out of a torpedo tube is "normal", or was at least. There is even a pool in Croatia with a fake torpedo tube to practice it in.
Yugoslav frogman would practice it along with a x mile swim to objective and back in blackout conditions.
But I have never heard of divers fighting underwater. It's just so impractical and implausible for actual combat use. Think about it, if you can overpower someone enough to drag him deeper, you may as well stab him.
